AIN Media Group is taking the next step in its evolution with the rollout of a membership program that ties together AIN’s journalism, proprietary data resources, and other information.
Under the membership program, subscribers will have access to AIN online news that is older than a week, Aviation International News magazine archives, the AIN FBO Survey annual reports, and searchable global business aviation airworthiness directive (AD) and accident and incident databases.&nbsp;
In addition, the program will have a searchable Business Aircraft Directory powered by AIN Media Group’s AircraftPost and include AIN’s Compliance Countdown compilation of relevant rules, regulations, and other mandates on the horizon.
“Navigating the complexities of today’s business aviation landscape requires more than just high-level headlines,” said AIN Media Group president Ruben Kempeneer. “AIN Membership brings together original, independent reporting with comprehensive, actionable databases. It is designed specifically to help operators and flight departments mitigate risk, understand shifting global regulations, and stay informed with news and information they can trust.”
Announced this week during NBAA-BACE, the program is priced at $299 per year for an individual membership, $696 for up to three users, or $1,080 for up to five users. Individual memberships cannot be shared. Enterprise packages are available for larger teams. For early registrants, AIN Media Group is offering a 20% discount on individual memberships (using code AINNOV) through November 30.
Once the membership program launches, most AINonline content will move behind the membership paywall after a week. The current issue of the AIN monthly magazine will remain available, but past issues will be accessible only to members. Live FBO Survey data will also be available only to members.&nbsp;
These changes will not affect the daily AINalerts newsletters—they will remain available to subscribers for free. Nor will they affect the weekly FutureFlight and Business Jet Traveler Waypoints newsletters. Readers can still subscribe to the AIN monthly magazine and access most posted articles for seven days.&nbsp;
As part of the program, AIN is opening access to its global AD and accident and incident databases that have long been used only internally. The AD database provides insight into rules governing business jets, turboprops, and rotorcraft, along with associated engines, avionics, and other key components.
The database is searchable by aircraft make, model, engine, appliance, or effective date and provides compliance deadlines, publication dates, and rule synopses. Users can search for all ADs of a given model since 2018.
Also focused on business aircraft, the accident and incident database is searchable by aircraft make/model, location, date, operator type, and/or keywords. Operator types include eight categories, ranging from training and government/public to charter, fractional, and corporate.
For instance, a user could search for King Air accidents in Brazil or ferry accidents in the U.S. and get a listing that includes registration, aircraft, type of accident or incident, operation, phase of operation, fatalities, and damage information. It serves as a central repository for aircraft OEMs, aircraft owner and pilot groups, fractional operators, and other aviation organizations that want to delve into accident data going back to 2018.
The aircraft directory also offers a centralized, searchable resource on business jets, with a full spec sheet including pricing, production numbers, detailed equipment, cabin dimensions and standard seating layout, maintenance intervals, and more. Users can search by manufacturer, model, class, avionics, or equipment. For example, a user can search for a Cessna Citation light jet or find out what business jets are equipped with head-up displays.
According to the company, the goal is to continue providing readers with comprehensive information, and AIN Membership gives aviation professionals more ways to use AIN beyond the daily news, deepening the relationship with the most engaged users.
