A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Atlantic Aviation has expanded its footprint in the U.S. Southwest with the purchase of Jet Center at Santa Fe, one of two FBOs at New Mexico’s Santa Fe Regional Airport (KSAF). For Atlantic, this marks its third location in the state, joining facilities in Albuquerque (KABQ) and Farmington (KFMN), and its 107th overall.
Located just north of the control tower at the intersection of taxiways Golf and Alpha, Jet Center at Santa Fe moved into its <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-08-25/new-mexico-fbo-completes-new-terminal">newly-built</a> $2.8 million terminal two years ago. Amenities in the 6,200-sq-ft facility include a naturally lit passenger lobby with an 18-foot-high ceiling, pilot lounge with snooze room, six-seat conference room, and rampside vehicle access.
It also offers 50,000 sq ft of heated hangar space capable of sheltering the latest ultra-long-range business jets, as well as more than 16 acres of ramp. The complex will be rebranded in line with Atlantic’s standards, with the company’s rewards program available to customers.
“This acquisition fits squarely within our strategy of identifying FBOs with strong market leadership and exceptional facilities in quality markets,” explained Bobby Femia, the company’s v-p of mergers and acquisitions. “Jet Center at Santa Fe’s modern terminal and hangars provide a solid foundation for us to continue building upon as we deliver the premium service experience our customers expect across our network.”
