A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Oklahoma’s Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport (1F0) will undergo a renovation after ground was broken on the construction of a new $3.3 million passenger terminal there last week. 
A partnership between the city of Ardmore and the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA), the project will replace the airport’s original terminal with a 3,368-sq-ft building more than twice its size. Dan Luttrell, the airport’s director, told AIN the old 1960s-vintage terminal will be torn down before the start of construction on the new one.
The updated terminal, expected to be completed by November 2026, will feature a lounge area, office space, and shower facilities for pilots among its amenities.&nbsp;With a runway length of 5,014 feet, 1F0 sees 9,500 operations annually. Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, it sits on 110 acres north of the Dallas Metroplex airspace.
“We’re very excited about the new terminal and the potential it will bring to the area,” said Luttrell. “As flights come in, the new terminal will be the first thing the pilots and passengers see. We are proud to be the first impression that reflects the quality of our operations here in Ardmore.”
Other improvements slated for the airport include the installation of a perimeter fence by the middle of next year, as well as a planned runway rehabilitation to be completed by mid-2028.
