A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

World leaders and scientists will gather to discuss climate topics, including the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to reduce aircraft carbon emissions, at the United Nation’s <a href="https://unfccc.int/cop30">COP 30</a>&nbsp;conference next week in Belém, Brazil. In its neat form, SAF can reduce life cycle greenhouse gas emissions in turbine aircraft by up to 80%.
The <a href="https://www.futureofsustainablefuel.com/">Business Aviation Coalition for Sustainable Fuel</a>—a partnership of more than 20 companies and trade associations dedicated to the scaling of SAF production and its use—is highlighting the industry’s position at the forefront of SAF adoption ahead of the&nbsp;conference.
Retail accessibility to SAF is now available at more than 100 locations worldwide through direct uplift, and, through the book-and-claim process, customers can purchase the environmental benefits of SAF at thousands of more locations, strategically expanding its global reach and impact to address emissions and promote investment directly into future SAF production increases.
COP30 takes place 10 years after the Paris climate agreement, in which countries pledged to try to restrict the rise in average global temperatures to 1.5 degrees C. The coalition encourages aircraft operators globally to contact their fuel providers, FBOs, and sustainability advisors to identify SAF options—especially for flights next week to Brazil for&nbsp;the conference—and for all future missions.
