A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

In-flight medical support and emergency telemedicine provider Aircare International is partnering with Air Nurses to improve the availability and quality of medical support for business aviation clients.
Unlike typical medical escorts that typically provide only non-emergency monitoring or companionship for patients, Air Nurses’ board-certified flight nurses (CFRN) are trained and credentialed to deliver advanced medical care in the air. Well-versed in flight operations, as well as cabin safety and the physiological effects of altitude, they can manage complex medical situations during transport.
“Air Nurses fills a critical gap for business aviation clients when medical escort is needed,” said company founder and CEO Ericka Essington. “Our speed of response, clinical caliber, and discretion align with Aircare International’s standards of safety and preparedness, which is why we have chosen them as our primary partner for emergency in-flight telemedicine support.”
Under the agreement, clients will have access to streamlined medical services coordination that combines Aircare International’s expertise in emergency telemedicine with Air Nurses’ clinical team. Services are designed to meet clinical and safety standards while providing clear communication and logistical support.
“This partnership enables us to provide clients with timely access to experienced medical professionals during flights,” said Karl Kamps, Aircare’s v-p of crew staffing and emergency telemedicine. “Working with Air Nurses allows us to maintain consistent safety and preparedness standards, while offering a seamless experience for passengers and flight crews.”
