Matt Thurber, editor-in-chief at AIN Media Group, has been flying since 1975 and writing about aviation since 1978 and now has the best job in the world, running editorial operations for Aviation International News, Business Jet Traveler, and FutureFlight.aero. The NBAA-BACE 2025&nbsp;<a href="https://nbaa25.mapyourshow.com/8_0/explore/session-gallery.cfm?">education program</a> includes a maintenance track for the first time this year, and mechanics who hold inspection authorization (IA) can earn renewal credit by participating in five eligible sessions. These cover the required eight hours of recurrent training needed for IA renewal.
Experts will help class participants learn about FAA regulations, safety management systems, human factors, and business aircraft technology. “Topics&nbsp;including regulatory compliance, human factors and safety management systems, leadership and management, and professional development all will be addressed,” according to NBAA.
“We’re proud to offer these&nbsp;valuable&nbsp;sessions&nbsp;to the maintenance professionals attending NBAA-BACE,” said Stewart D’Leon, NBAA senior director of environmental and technical operations. “Staying current with complex and frequently changing regulations is a challenge, and we’re excited to launch this program to support our community.”
The maintenance track is one of nine, which include 75 educational sessions offered during BACE. Many of the NBAA-BACE educational sessions offer credit toward earning NBAA’s Certified Aviation Manager credential or renewal.

News and issues about aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), covering all segments of the aviation industry; and modifications for aircraft and engines. Subjects include product support of aircraft, engines and avionics, MRO company mergers, acquisitions, announcements and personnel, Airworthiness Directives, Supplemental Type Certificate approvals and other topics.
