A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

With the U.S., Canada, and Mexico all playing host to next year’s FIFA World Cup, ICCS—Mexico’s largest ground handling provider—is preparing to welcome an anticipated influx of private aircraft to the country.
“Based on the 2022 World Cup traffic in Qatar, we estimate over 1,500 aircraft movements in Mexico,” said company COO Miguel Ballesteros.
ICCS—which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year—has facilities in all three of Mexico’s World Cup host cities: Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara.
The company expects its <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-09-16/iccs-starts-toluca-fbo-expansion">new facility</a> at Toluca International Airport (MMTO) to be operational by the time of the tournament. With its expanded ramp and handling zones, combined with those of its partners at MMTO, ICCS will offer the most business aviation ramp space and parking in the country.
The new FBO will feature a 17,000-sq-ft terminal with VIP lounges, conference rooms, a bar, kitchen, terrace, crew area, kids’ zone, and pet-friendly spaces, as well as Mexico’s largest catering operation for business jets, offering gourmet meals from top chefs and equipped with cold and dry storage. On-site customs and immigration clearance will further enhance convenience for international travelers.
“Our team is built for world-class events,” said ICCS CEO Nelson Dumas. “With premier facilities in Toluca, Monterrey, and Saltillo, and elite handling teams in Guadalajara and across the country, ICCS is ready for the world’s largest sporting event.”
