A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

For aircraft departing Las Vegas from NBAA-BACE later this month, the option to partake in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-10-16/saf-tap-all-three-las-vegas-airports-during-nbaa-bace">again</a> be available at all three of the city’s airports.
At Harry Reid International Airport (KLAS), Signature Aviation has brought in supplies of SAF blend for the event. The company noted that SAF is currently available there and will be through BACE and the Formula 1 Grand Prix next month. It will be offered until supplies run out. Signature offers permanent SAF supplies at 16 of its locations in the U.S. and UK and has a book-and-claim program.
Atlantic Aviation will have SAF credits available via book-and-claim at its KLAS facility during BACE. The company noted this is not just for the show but is a standard practice available at all Atlantic locations.&nbsp;“As a best practice, Atlantic aims to distribute SAF as close to the original production source as possible, maximizing the environmental benefits,” a company spokesperson told AIN.
For the Clark County-operated FBOs at Henderson Executive (KHND) and North Las Vegas (KVGT) airports, fuel provider World Fuel Services can also provide book-and-claim.
“We are making SAF available for operators at NBAA-BACE as a way of promoting the production, availability, and use of the fuel, which is a critical component of our industry’s comprehensive plan for continued emissions reduction,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen.
