Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

While it continues to monitor developments related to COVID-19, NBAA reaffirmed that its 2020 International Operators Conference (IOC2020) is&nbsp;on for next week in Charlotte, North Carolina. The association has been in frequent contact with medical experts, and additional safety and sanitation measures will be in place, Doug Carr, v-p of regulatory and international affairs, told members. These measures reflect the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), he said.

 


“Additionally, we strongly encourage any [registered] attendee who has symptoms of COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, to stay home and not attend IOC2020,” Carr added, noting that NBAA would record select education sessions of the event to enable those who are unable to attend to access the content. The event is anticipated to be scaled down somewhat given the current disruptions in international travel. Additionally, some major companies that typically attend have made the decision to cancel participation, including Universal Weather and Aviation.&nbsp;

 


To be held March 16 to 19 at The Westin Charlotte, IOC2020 will provide an overview of issues involved with international operations, including a discussion with FAA officials, and briefings of flight into specific regions, weather guidance, avionics requirements, notams, medical considerations, and regulatory updates, among other topics. The event follows NBAA’s 2020 Schedulers &amp; Dispatchers Conference being held this week also in Charlotte.

NBAA said its International Operators Conference is still on but the association is following guidance of the CDC.
