After a two-year, $1.5 million infrastructure update, a new general aviation U.S. Customs facility at Ohio's Dayton International Airport (DAY) is now open to clear private aircraft crew and passengers arriving directly from international departure points. Before this processing center opened, crew and passengers of private aircraft arriving from international departure points had to clear customs at other ports of entry before flying to DAY.

 


Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Chicago director of field operations Robert White applauded the efforts of CBP’s external stakeholders during the lengthy construction project. “We are very appreciative of the support we’ve received from our partners throughout the planning and construction of this facility.”

 


Dayton city commissioner Jeffrey Mims&nbsp;highlighted multiple benefits the new facility provides the city, including added sources of revenue and increased safety opportunities for those who live and work in the Dayton area.

 


“This new facility provides a secure location for our officers to complete their anti-terrorism mission and to provide all necessary services to the local community and airport authorities,” said Cleveland-area port director Marc Hurteau. “We now have a modernized general aviation facility, a port office, and a global entry enrollment center under one roof at the Dayton port of entry.”
