Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Honeywell Aerospace unveiled two new groups, Honeywell Engineering Services (HES) and Honeywell Technical Services (HTS), to offer expertise to global commercial and military aerospace manufacturers and suppliers. The groups will tap into their certification and technical experience to help manufacturers and suppliers improve their product development processes and control costs.

 


“With more than 22,000 engineers working on all aspects of Honeywell’s products, we’re now unleashing that expertise to help our customers build a competitive advantage,” said Honeywell Aerospace aftermarket v-p Carrie Kendrick. “And with test labs conveniently located around the world, we’re expanding our expertise to give customers a fast, cost-effective, and more accessible way to ensure their products meet industry standards.”

 


With a few exceptions, the company traditionally had limited its engineering services to products that Honeywell developed and/or supported, added Thomas Kirchner, senior director of product marketing for Honeywell Aerospace. “We’ve made this move to launch HES and HTS to address a market need to provide full product lifecycle solutions and partner with aerospace and defense companies in their globalization strategies,” Kirchner said. “It takes years to develop the deep aerospace domain experience that Honeywell has, so we are in a great position to provide an agile, turnkey approach.”

 


This enables Honeywell to offer end-to-end support for customers and help bring products to market faster, he added.

 


HES will provide services in mechanical, propulsion, and avionics areas. The company’s technology center of excellence in India, which has 24-plus years of aerospace engineering experience, will support HES with its more than 3,000 engineers and aerospace labs in Bangalore, Madurai, and Hyderabad. These labs house advanced facilities such as additive manufacturing and flight simulation. Kirchner said the company has received requests for partnering and compliance help as part of the government of India’s “Make in India” initiative.

 


HTS, meanwhile, will offer services such as environmental testing, electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility tests, and specialized testing for bearings materials, systems integration, fuel systems and radiation effects, among others. These services are backed by more than 100 specially trained test engineers and technicians at 24 locations across the U.S., China, India, England, and the Czech Republic.

Honeywell To Extend Technical Services To Global Market

The company formed Honeywell Engineering Services and Honeywell Technical Services to support global aerospace and defense manufacturers.
