Jeff Burger joined&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler in March 2004, a few months after the publication’s launch. Besides editing the magazine, he has written many articles for it and conducted its interviews with such luminaries as Sir Richard Branson, James Carville, Suze Orman, Donald Trump, F. Lee Bailey, and Steve Van Zandt. Burger helped to oversee the introduction of BJT’s annual Readers' Choice surveys and Buyers’ Guide.
During his years with the magazine, it has won well over a hundred editorial awards. In 2011, Burger received the Gold Wing Award for Reporting Excellence from the National Business Aviation Association and the Aviation Journalism Award from the National Air Transportation Association. He has also won writing and editing awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. BJT, meanwhile, was named Best International Publication in 2017 in the Aerospace Media Awards. It was also a Magazine of the Year finalist in 2011, 2013, and 2016 and an Overall Excellence winner in 2018 in competitions sponsored by the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
Before coming to BJT, Burger spent 14 years at&nbsp;Medical Economics, the nation’s leading business magazine for doctors, where he served on the editorial board; directed staff recruiting; oversaw a $2 million annual budget; and was financial editor, news editor, and director of special projects. He has been editor of several publications, including&nbsp;Phoenix Magazine in Arizona, and has been a consulting editor at Time Inc. His articles have appeared in more than 75 magazines and newspapers, among them&nbsp;The Los Angeles Times,&nbsp;Barron’s, Reader’s Digest, Gentlemen’s Quarterly , and&nbsp;Family Circle. Chicago Review Press published his books,&nbsp;Springsteen on Springsteen: Interviews, Speeches, and Encounters, Leonard Cohen on Leonard Cohen: Interviews and Encounter, Lennon on Lennon: Conversations with John Lennon, and Dylan on Dylan: Interviews and Encounters. His music writing appears on multiple websites, including his own byjeffburger.com.
Burger, a summa cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, lives in Ridgewood, N.J. He and his wife, Madeleine, have two grown children. His off-hours passions include cooking, travel, technology, movies, and music.

The Hiller Group (Booth No. 6244), which already supplies fuel at more than 600 U.S. airports, plans "in the near term to expand into Canada and look at Europe as well." That's according to company president and CEO Martin Hiller, who made the comment during a press conference yesterday.
During the same session, the Tampa, Fla.-based Hiller Group announced a program that offers reward points to users of AvCard, an aviation charge card accepted at more than 7,500 locations worldwide. With each AvCard transaction at Chevron, Texaco and other participating dealers, customers receive FlyBuys reward points that they can exchange for rebates, fuel, goods or services. 
Also here at NBAA, the Hiller Group unveiled plans for a multifaceted consult council, which will hold its first summit early next year. The council will consist of FBO leaders, Hiller fuel-supply partners and other key figures from the general-aviation industry. "Bringing together smart people makes perfect sense from a business-decision perspective," said Martin Hiller. "The aviation fuel industry is changing and, with the assistance from the aviation industry, we can provide better decisions that affect the success of our FBO partners."

All services and permits must now be coordinated with the airport teamAircraft operators heading to the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana International Airport (MDPC) should note there have been changes implemented which affect general aviation ground handling. According to Universal Aviation, third-party ground handlers are no longer allowed to operate on the field, with all services such as pre-arrival coordination, on-site coordination, meet-and-greet services, and support within airport facilities now arranged directly with the airport’s internal team. This marks a significant change to the planning process for those operators who previously worked with a preferred handler, as they must now coordinate permits, services, and payments directly with airport owner Corporación Aeroportuaria del Este, S.A.  Universal noted that the transition began on May 1 with the closure of the airport’s dedicated FBO and the relocation of general aviation operations to the VIP terminal. It added that operators should confirm payment methods in advance of arrival at (MDPC), along with updating their scheduling and dispatch procedures For operators who prefer a traditional general aviation handling environment, Universal suggests La Romana International Airport (MDLR)—less than an hour by car from Punta Cana—which has a private aviation terminal housing three FBOs.
