Safety information about TCAS equipment and its use is now available in the form of a new FAA Safety Bulletin (<a href="http://www.faa.gov/and/and500/500/docs/TCAS_SAFETY_BUL">www.faa.gov/and/and500/500/docs/TCAS_SAFETY_BUL</a> LETIN.pdf ). The bulletin advises operators of aircraft equipped with TCAS II that there have been events (examples are included) in which the crew responded incorrectly to the resolution advisory announced as “adjust vertical speed adjust” by “increasing vertical speed rather than reducing vertical speed.”
